Monograph on French modernist master Andre Sornay, whose career designing furniture, lighting, and interiors spanned the Art Deco period through the mid-century. Sornay’s geometrically pure, harmoniously proportioned, practical, and withal affordable designs combined traditional and modern materials: precious woods and inlays, permeated products, rubber, Duco lacquer, metal. Somewhat of a regional figure early in his career, Sornay nonetheless exhibited at two major Parisian exhibitions in his lifetime (1925, 1937) and his work is in demand internationally today.
