According to its own introduction,, “Iconochrestomathy is a unique typographic display of the fifteen award-winning type faces of the 1966 international type face design competition conducted by Visual Graphics Corporation, manufacturer of the Photo Typositor.” Lubalin’s poster designs paired quotes by Ambrose Bierce, Maurice Chevalier, George Eliot, Clifton Fadiman, Henry Ford, Benjamin Franklin, John Stuart Mill, Robert Moses, Oscar Wilde, and others with type face designs by Barry Deutsch, Zoltan Nagy, Stanley Davis, Jay Spechter, Raphael Boguslav, Georg Salden, Aldo Novarese, Hans-Furgen Wolf, Giorgio Giaiotto, Karl-Heinz Domning, Ernst Friz, Wayne Stettler, and Friedrich Peter. Sixteen sheets, measuring approximately 14” x 20”, loose as issued. With the original manila mailing envelope. Overall very good condition, colors still bold and vibrant.
