Fold-out poster advertising the ITC (International Typeface Corporation) Tiffany type face, designed by Ed Benguiat in 1973 and made available in 1974. Published mid-1970’s by ITC. Benguiat (1927-2020) was a legendary type designer, calligrapher, and educator who in a seven-decade plus career designed north of 600 type faces, among them Bookman, Benguiat, Panache, Tiffany, and Barcelona. He designed logotypes for the New York Times, Playboy, Readers Digest, Esquire, Sports Illustrated, Coca-Cola, and Look. A graduate of Columbia University and long-time teacher at New York’s School of Visual Arts, Benguiat joined Photo-Lettering in 1962 as typographic design director, and later ITC as a vice president. ITC itself was founded in 1970 by Herb Lubalin, Ed Rondthaler, and Aaron Burns, and quickly became a pre-eminent source for type faces. 12.25” x 18.5”. Ships folded flat. Slight bumping and some rubbing.
