First edition of Metallmobel, a 1962 survey of postwar metal furniture. Edited by Ernst Erik Pfannschmidt and published by Julius Hoffmann Verlag of Stuttgart, Germany. Features work by Alain Richard, Florence Knoll, Friso Kramer, Verner Panton, Robin Day, Egon Eiermann, Charles Eames, Hans Bellman, Osvaldo Borsani, Ico Parisi, and Ilmaari Tapiovaara. 406 photographs and 25 pages with informative drawings and important technical details. Text in German, English, and French. 160 pages, hardcover 4to (9" x 11.5") with dust jacket. Small damp stain to spine head. Virtually intact dust jacket but detached at rear hinge; front hinge with tears but remains attached. Loss to spine end especially at head; additional loss to bottom corner; general soiling and chipping. 2" tape to verso not seen from front. Now in protective mylar cover. Contents clean and bright.
