Rapid Typographers was at the time one of New York’s largest and most successful typesetting houses; graphic design impresario and legend Aaron Burns (“the Buckminster Fuller of typography”) had set up a division, Aaron Burns & Co, in 1960. The five type specimen booklets include: Film-Lettering Specimens (50 pages); Script & Ornate Type Specimens (21 pages); Linotype Specimens (60 pages); Serif Type Specimens (56 pages); and Square Serif & Gothic Type Specimens (83 pages). 4to, printed wrappers. All encased in a cardboard slipcase. From the estate of CBS Television Network in-house Mad Man Vaha (Vic) Kirishjian, with his name in ink on the covers. Minor rubbing and bumping and some curling to edges to wrappers; interiors clean and bright. Moderate damage to slipcase.
